This week’s Homeschool Days Workshop is all about Alternative Energy, December 11 at IMAS! https://theimasonline.org/homeschool-days/ Primary groups will feel the power of wind in this engineering challenge, learning about sources of alternative energy and building their own anemometer. (Ages 7-9, session time 1:30-2:45PM) Secondary groups will power up with a study of solar energy among other sources of alternative energy and experiment with circuits and solar panel design. Discover the history of the cochineal insect and the rich carmine pigment that has colored artworks from the Renaissance to Indigenous textiles. You’ll create your own pigment using cochineal insects, explore other natural materials for additional colors, and craft an Insecta-inspired piece of art.
